Hello, I'm Steve

My name is Steve Lister. I spent my early years in Africa and took an interest in Rally racing when I first saw the East African Safari Rally come through the town I lived in there. In years following I particpated with my father in operating check point stations for that safari rally. Once back in the US I got into aviation which is my day job. I have gathered a collection of vintage Land Rover Series vehicles and currently participate in National Land Rover off-road events. I have written articles for Land Rover magazines and enjoy a good day on the trail.
The Dakar Rally is an annual event that I track each year. Most of the joy comes from finding the most efficient way to gather info on the event because it changes each year.
I am a fan of any American who has the skills and guts to compete in these type rallies. Robby Gordon, Jonah Street, Mark Miller, and the short list of others who have competed, all get my attention and moral support.

Thanks for the welcome note. I think I'm already hooked. It has been difficult to even find someone who knows what the Dakar is let alone someone who anticipates it. Seems like a good group.

Im sure u may know already but just in case watch Versus channel daily 12:30 & 3:30.....for Dakar highlights....
