Re: The real story
Pete everyone knows I am going to be biased, I guess I should have mentioned it here but Iwas very honest with that in another thread here on RDC before I posted this. But with that said everything that I stated here was as it happened and what we were presented with last week.
And yes a few are you are right WSORR did realease a schedule as did Ricky, what I was refering to here about the schedule is we have toassume that if the two did merge that there may or will be changes, if the meetings last week Ricky addressed this as well and said he was weighing options.

Re: The real story
mike has admitted the series he backs has less potential than the ORGP; the ORGP is THE BEST solution for the sponsors but it requires the sponsors to commit, which they have, when they are all in the same boat the coffers will be able to secure the WSORR purchase and the purchase of superior TV and races at better tracks. The ORGP is the future of shortcourse and there are only a couple teams and sponsors that disagree with that right now, bullydog is one of those sponsors, maybe he can't get out of his contract that he signed before the PDG had made its final decisions on who to back? now he needs to get as many sponsors and teams on board to protect his investment. remember people, this is one mans opinion, the sponsor group is looking at all the options from all angles.
Rumors of canceling the ORGP opener? lol, everybody knew the ORGP schedule would need to be revised to accommodate all the Improvements added since RJ announced his 3 race series.
yes, the west coast ORGP venues are smaller venues but the fact is they were chosen because they have infrastructure, they have grand stands, power and bathrooms, tony's facilities do not. The Sponsor group offered its support to ORGP but asked RJ to look into a race at Chula with jim and Primm with tony, neither option are bearing much fruit but RJ and mitch are attempting it and properly logging the results for the sponsors.
Pete, made a good comment, this is unfortunately mikes last ditch attempt to save the third series he committed to support this fall, its kind of funny, he was on board with CORR, then WSORR was the best choice, then back to CORR, now AOR. its really a shame it went this way as mike is a perfect example of good utilization of his marketing investment but he made the wrong choice several times this fall and this is his last ditch attempt to save his final (most recent) decision.
Good questions about lucas? from the beginning everyone has said that short course needed to be united nationwide, why didn't lucas try to unite WSORR with tony or RJ rather than drop the wsorr?

Re: The real story
The main reason the PDG decided against Tony's series from the beginning is that his "tracks" are just dirt fields and there is serious doubts that it would even be possible to have a CORR style event at Elsinore (it's too small and the dirt sucks). What this means is that the race series sponsors money will be wasted on track development. (grandstands, porta-potties, k-rail, fencing etc. are real expensive, ask Jim). So why not race somewhere that already has all this stuff and spend the money on a good TV package? Tony just has to spend way to much money on stuff that the series sponsors aren't going to get any benefit from.

The PDG spent 2 weeks talking to CORR, Tony, RJ, and WSORR before they committed to the ORGP. it is a shame a couple sponsors like BullyDog think those 8 guys can't objectivly looked at ALL options and chose the ORGP. the amazing thing to me is that aside from greaves they are primarily west coast teams. They selected the solid foundation of midwest short course racing and teamed it with flexible yet forward thinking on the west coast. mike is not telling you this but he had his decision made before he even entered the room with the other sponsors for the meeting in vegas, evidently his money was spent and he was committed to AOR. now his intent is to devalue the great things the ORGP has in the works. finally, i had a little bird in the parking lot after the meeting and it tells me mike was the first one to corner RJ after the other sponsors left? what's up with that mike?

Ross you and I have never really seen eye to eye. I could point out a number of things you have wrong here but it is VERY clear all you are doing is trying to get a rise out of me as you and I both know a lot of what you posted is pure BS but I am going to leave it here because I refuse to sink there with you.

Re: The real story
If I recall, Ricky and the PDG tried to work with everybody including CORR and Tony to unite all the series but they wouldn't hear of it. Kudos to Ricky and ORGP for investing in the future of this sport!
