    Recommended carb sbc350??

I'm looking for a carb for my 1450 truck's sbc350. I've read some about using a holley double pumper... But to be honest i'm not up to speed 100% w/the offroad carb setup's. Can you guys recommend me a good carb, and let me know what modifications are needed, and who can sell me this stuff. Thanks fella's

The GM TBI truck systems are excellent! Very simple to work on, efficient, minimal parts and replacements are available everywhere. I looked into it a couple years ago for my Bronco and if I remember right it could be done for about 1200 dollars. Less if you're willing to do some leg work and scrounge part at a wrecking yard.

I wouldn't give it a second thought. GM TBI is the way to go.

I'm still considering it for my truck, and it's a Ford!

Holley h.p. 750, spring loaded needle and seats, raised vent tube, will work fine for about $700.00

I think with a little research and scrounging, you could use a TBI off a LO5 from the junkyard and pay VERY little. That motor was used in millions of Chev/GMC trucks and SUV's as well as Chev/Buick cars.

Way better than a carb, IMHO.

    Good Luck!

What is the HP limit for the L05 TBI? What would be the recommended mods for an L05 to get 300-350HP...and still run pump gas???

Honestly, I don't don't know what they're capable of, but the same systems came on big blocks and they're more than capable of what you're after. One of the guys at my work used to have a 91 C1500 with a 5.7. He installed an Edelbrock cam and intake, headers, exhaust and a big block throttle body and injectors and damn did that thing run! I don't have any idea how much power it was making but it ran perfectly and made more than enough power for that truck. I tried to convince him to get the matching heads but he didn't go for it. I bet a fresh engine with the complete Edelbrock treatment would be damn close to your goal and reliable for tens of thousands of miles.
