Its a wide trailing arm with a large opening so i don't think it would be needed. I dont know 100% on this one tho. I havent heard what Jeff ordered. All I know is those trailing arms are light weight and seem pretty beefy.

Great build. The truck looks good. One thing I see that could be a potential problem is the transmission mount. The ends are stock mounted but the trans bolts direct to the crossmember. That was exactly how I built mine and it lasted 150 miles. The tailstock cracked out because it was mounted too rigid. I changed the mount to add a poly bushing below the tailstock. Problem solved.

Looks like a lot of work ! My question is: Why would you cut off the rear frame rails, instead of working around them ? My thought is, that if you left the frame, it looks like your truck could have been a competitive class 8. I understand that this truck may not have ever been planned to be raced in class 8, but it might have kept a little more value if it were ever advertised as a class 8.

    Again, really good looking work.

I love the rear trailing arms.
It takes money to get in a Trophy Truck, It takes balls to get on a Bike.

Even with Solid motor mounts? I wouldnt think it would flex. ive seen a lot of trucks solid mounted at the trans and motor, some with an added support at the bellhousing. I guess time will tell haha.

They debated keeping it but Jeff just decided to get it cut off and design it how they wanted to. It was already kind of cut up from the last setup they had too.

Its going to mainly be a play truck but will race the occasional 1400 race.

    Here are some old pictures:
