URGE YOUR SENATORS TO VOTE "NO" ON JOHN GRAHAMīS NOMINATION

Please call your Senators TODAY and ask your Senators to oppose the
nomination of John Graham to direct the Office of Information and
Regulatory Affairs in the Office of Management and Budget. The Senate will
vote on the nomination early this week, so urgent action is needed. To
contact your senators, call the US Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121.

This position plays an extremely powerful role in establishing (and
blocking) regulations that protect our health and environment. It is the
"regulatory czar" with the power to make sweeping decisions on federal
environmental, health and safety, worker safety, and consumer protection
regulations. Throughout his career, Graham has been an close ally of
polluting industries and an opponent of public health and environmental
    protections.

Graham is currently the director of the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis,
where he has a long record of publishing studies that are pro-industry,
    anti-environment, anti-consumer, and anti-health protection. He
specializes in controversial "risk assessment" and "cost/benefit"
techniques that underestimate health benefits of regulatory actions and
emphasize their costs to industry. For example, he has downplayed the
EPAīs warnings about cancer risks from dioxin exposure while being
supported by 48 major dioxin producers, including chemical, incinerator,
    pulp and paper companies.

Grahamīs work has been funded by a wide array of major industries,
including the American Automobile Manufacturers Association, the American
Petroleum Institute, the Chemical Manufacturers Association, the Chlorine
Chemistry Council, ExxonMobil, and Monsanto. With this background, it is
unlikely that Graham could effectively fulfill his new responsibilities in
the public interest, free of corporate influence.

Let your senators know that your want them to vote "NO" on the Graham
    nomination.
