Shock Valving

I am doing some machine work for a guy and in return he is buying me some 2" Sway Away shock. My question is if the valving is not correct where do I get the new valving disc at? I know I could send them in and have it done but I would not be learning anything about the shocks it I did that. So where do I go and how much? Thanks
