Proper etiquette after a unsportsman like Nerf
Was just wondering what other team do in the event they hit ( nerf ) someone harder than a normal nerf. We have always gone over to the other teams pits after the race and apologize and explane what happened. Some times a gentleman's hand shake goes a long way. This past weekend at BAP there was four of us 1600 battling into a single track corner , we where the second car in line and at the corner we where hit so hard from behind it shoved us into the car in front of us. Both of us in the car blacked out for a brief second ( Thank god for having D Cells on ). The impact ruined our rear cage , shoved the header into the alt. and power steering ,cracked our engine case and my helmet. This seems a little bit excessive and unsportsman like. After the race no one from the other team came over to see if we where ok or explain . Here is a couple of aftermath pictures

My daughter had a similar incident in our 1600 car but it was a 1450 that hit us. I would like to say that he did appoligize to her and he also sent us a check in the mail ! I would like to say thank you to them for doing this and it truly showed that he is a decent racer and a great sportsman when it comes to racing !
I know what it feels like to look at your car and wonder how much is this gonna cost! Make sure when you tear it down you put the car on a jig because you will find more bent tubes than your eye can see ! Hope you are able to get it fixed.

I dont think this should ever happen the driver must have ben an idiot or was not paying attention..
But that cage looks like it would fold from a small hit any way build it a little stronger next time...

bummer, looks like you got smacked hard...I do not think people will intentionally hit somebody that hard, accidents do happen during races. But not checking in with the recipient is harsh. good luck getting it fixed.

do you think that maybe the 3rd car was hit by the 4th car hence crashing into the 2nd car (you)???

Since you were the second car out of four all going for the same spot, the driver that hit you might have been hit as well. Sending him into you at a reckless speed.
Don't bother me. I'm wasting potential.
Life's a grave, dig it.

It is obvios by looking at the picture the bumper is made way way to thin. the name on the back says a lot. I have only seen tubing that smashed once, when it was 0-2-thin. I cannot comment on him comming over, because if the bumper was not 2 thin the damage would have been minumal and to him could have been nothing more than racing contact. I didnt see it happen so I am not going to say he was right or wrong but the damage is severe and the result of 0-2-thin. Very Rarly do you see cages fold like that in 1600 from another 1600 unless..........
