Re: Any Prerunners in NorCal
I would be interested in helping out on races and maybe some prerunning. I am new to NorCal, and have been out of Off-road Racing for a while. I have a '90 2wd F150 that is pretty capable. I am a pretty descent mechanic and fabricator, as well as electrician. Email me if you would like some help, [email protected] I'm in Mountain View.

I would also be more than happy to offer some help. Im in Chico, but try to make it to as many VORRA races as possible. Im a decent fabricator/mechanic and have a semi-built prerunner that could be used to chase or whatever. Also if anyone needs any machining services my dad owns a machine shop. I also have a few friends that are into the sport that would also be willing to help.

I live in Elk Grove and we have a repair shop on Florin Rd. I know the desert season is done but would like to go to Prarie City and meet the local racers. Hopefully next season will be able to do some prerunning/chase in the desert.

John,
What kind of racer do you have?
Truck, Buggy, Trophy Truck?
Keep an eye out for people out there,
some will be prerunning to shake down their cars. See you there!

Nothing race worthy but a very capable Unimog and VW Vanagon Syncro. The Unimog has a small bed on the back and is mostly stock except for some resi shocks and lighter springs on the back. It is better suited for the Rubicon.
The Syncro has a three inch lift and 30" tall tires. It has 9" of travel in the front and 11" in the rear. Has 15" of clearance under the skid plates. It has front and rear lockers and 6.17 R&P's. Engine is stock 2.1L with a tri-mil sidewinder header. It works great in the desert. I have had it on trails in Moab, Truck Haven Hills, Mojave trail and Anza Borrego. Have also wheeled to the look out over Cadillac Hill on the Rubicon from the Tahoe side. For lots of pics and video google "SyncroMog"
I also have a '91 V6 Toyota short bed 4x4 project. Plans are to build it into a truggy. I have an ESB 18" travel front suspension/steering kit for it. I want to keep it a 4x4 and am leaning towards IRS. I have a Range Rover 4.0 V8 for it also. I may do something wild and drop a VW Thing body on it somehow lol.
