    It is unfortunate that some could not see the forest through the trees... Some hoping to carve out their slice of the pie ended up making a mess of things, or at the least it would appear. Personally I had high hopes for the "mini" concept since I am currently building my car; however, now it just seems like a fragmented mess.

    I don't understand any of you. All threads say something about the economy, the cost of engines, that air cooled engines are expensive and lack HP vs the water cooled, 10 car engines have to be rebuilt every race, high end HP blowing trannys, etc, everybody crying for a less expensive class where you can run a good suspension, either on a buggy or a truck, with a reliable engine. SCORE gives you an open class where you can run ANY car you have, the old one you have in your garage, the one your building, your 10, 12, 5, truck, mason, fusion, trophylite, etc etc.......and all I read are complaints.
    You don't like the rules? keep racing your class. Somebody will like this rules.
    BTW, once you get tired of blowing engines you can always buy an ecotec, put in your ride, and go race class 4.

Is being maybe 50 hp and 10 mph slower going to make racing no fun? I dont think so. And the cost to buy the Ecotec is what you might pay to do a top end service on your Honda motor, so the cost to make the switch might not really be an issue either.
    Well, I can tell you of one team with a 10 car not yet finished that maybe considering this. As far as I'm concerned, if you had a VW, its a better engine and the car is now faster. If you have a honda, its way more cost effective as I have heard these engines are very reliable. I think the racing would be awesome in this new class. A competive VW 10 car would be faster with the ecotec . . . I hope to see more 10 car's out there and this might be the new 10 car class, hopefully open it up to some other stock engines with similar power aspects, that way its not an ecotec class, although that would look good to get some chevy $$$$, if they have any left . . .

    Baically class 4 just became the old class 10 with cheaper mtor. Nothing mini or exciting about it, and trucks are out due to weight disadvantage, Anybody that likes to sell seat or race with buddy will be dusted by single seater.

    I believe my class 10 VW car will be slower with a Ecotec motor (150 HP) but it will be much more reliable and bring down my operating cost with the Ecotec. Now if the ecotec motor was about 190-200 HP, I do believe my car would be faster. It would at least make up for the extra 150 lbs. I was intrested in this class until I saw the HP ratings of the Ecotec stock motor but its very hard not to see the upside of lowering my operating costs.

    Don't the 2.4L Ecotecs make 180 hp? I wonder what SCORE's position will be on this motor seeing how this is the current engine and the 2.2L has been discontinued. From what I hear the supplies of 2.2L's are good, but just seems weird to spec in a discontinued engine.

    Also Turnkey notes the HP of the 2.2 is at 170hp. Still not 180-200hp that Puravida mentioned it would take for him to consider the switch over. But for some it might be close enough when the engine cost and maintenance is factored in.

    Also is it fact that the 2.2 Ecotec is being discontinued, or is it just what some are hearing and saying?

    I just wanted to express my disappointment as well. I will NOT be racing SCORE now. I want to see how someone that wants to run BITD and SCORE gets their motor "sealed" by two different places. I think Fish says it best "What a joke!"

    Class 4===== We have a choice. Instead of sitting on our hands, why don't we the ones who are going to write the checks "help" write the rules to our benefit.

    These are just ideas;
    1) a class rep or group ( I know the past faults) to go to SCORE & BITD
    2) an engine package(sealed engine) that will work in the current class 10. This way you can race in any series
    3) Keeping the cost down to help keep the car counts up
    4) I am willing to host a meeting

    post your ideas
