    Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari

So how many of you are going to TDS this year? I heard that over 10,000 are signed up for it. I remember when there were less than 300 a year. We're taking the weekend off of the race car to go play in the Jeep down there with all the Riff Raff 4WDC, but we're not on the run. Anza Borrego here we come. I'm leaving in about an hour. You guys know what I'm talking about?

Man that is too cool!!! I grew up in TDS, I have some great memories as a little kid, staying up late, drinking coffee with as much sugar as I wanted, helping get all the late arrivals registered. It was a blast when the next vehicle would come roaring down the wash into registration, couldn't wait to check out what kind of cool jeep they were towing!!! Is the Safari still held off of North Marina? Last time I drove by there were finally houses out there, I remember riding our bikes on the roads with all the fire hydrants and no houses! it was like a ghost town, with no town!! Damn I miss TDS, guess its time to get my old jeep out and fix it up, I havent been on a jeep run since 1986 way too long ago.

Where is the camp located? I might want to run out there and check it out, see if I recognize anyone.

Unfortunately, I think it has just got too big. That is one of the reasons we stopped going. It is a great run, but it just seemed like we were spending too much time sitting and waiting. I prefer to go on an off weekend with fewer people.

Do miss the night time raffle though- Burn It!

PLS I agree. I just got back. It was HUGE. They don't have it off Marina drive any more. It's over off S22 or N22 or whatever that highway is just south of North Marina. Yes, it's too big. Too many people out there leveling out the cracks.

    It was fun, though.

It is not what it used to be. But I had always had a great time cruising and fining new trails with short lines.

I guess I never knew what it was really like, I am into it (evan though I have not been for several years) because it is different offroad than what i am into every other week.
