    Newb

I have a '97 tacoma and I'm looking into getting it dirt worthy. I don't intend to race it, but just to have a chase vehicle/pre-runner. Honestly I don't even know if there is a difference between the two. I am totally truck ignorant and need some guidance on where to start. I race a motorcycle in the desert and need to get my truck set up so it can make it out to pick up my bike in the case of a crash and for fun cruising around.

Is it a 5 lug or 6? I would go with Total Chaos up front and Deavers in the rear. Look in to a bedcage lets you keep a bed.

dmz does good work. check these trucks out.

Great, that's the kit I was looking at. What exactly is a bed cage? Will I still be able to use the bed of my truck to put things in, like loading up my bike? Also, are there any reinforcements that need to be done when installing a kit like the one from total chaos? Of course, I'm looking for some off-road performance, but not breaking something is paramount.
