VIDEO, TrailReady Motorsports #7212 in car video from Parker

For the second year in a row, the TrailReady Motorsports Ford Ranger came within a few miles of the podium in Best in the Desert's Parker 425. Last year we were running down 2nd position when we blew the motor 37 miles from the finish. This year's battle turned into a 250 mile fight with the 7276 Ford of Team Orbit. Larry Trim along with Navigator John Koeth started the race 4th in the 17 mini unlimited truck field. The goal was to hand the truck off to driver of record Rich Blunk and son AJ in good shape in third or better. Right off the line we noticed the rear shocks were too soft and bottoming and rebounding hard. After nearly loosing the truck a couple of times we backed way off in the rough and watched the Orbit truck and one of the Mason trucks get by. The Mason truck looked like a trophy truck driving away. At the 90 mile mark (pit 3) we came in for fuel 2nd on the course and left 4th. Next time around at Pit 3 Larry handed the truck off to Rich in second place with Team Orbit 4 minutes ahead(7 minutes) after the driver change. And so the battle commenced. Radios for 7212 and 7276 were blaring out time intervals as Rich tried to chase Jason Ruane down. We finally passed Team Orbit on the final stretch as they were out of the truck with the hood off putting on a new oil pump belt. The premature celebration ended abruptly when we got the call that 7212 was dead with a hydrolocked motor 20 miles from the finishline. Only two trucks in the 17 truck field finished so we left Parker third in points for our efforts. Congradulations to Jason and the entire Orbit crew for a great effort and hard fought win.
