Thats what I was going to say. I was at RM 39 and BJ and Post were the were the first trucks by with about a 5 minute lead.

I can confirm that it was two third member failures. The first while LEADING THE RACE at RM 55.9 and the second at RM 68. Also, I was there for it all. Be on notice the Pistol is gunning for a win.

I was at MM55.9 and he was not the first car through, not even top 5.

i don't think you have to be the first truck by a particular RM to be in the lead. the lead is about corrected time. is it not?

with that said i don't have the numbers so i can't be much help past that.

No offense to Pete because he is one of my buddies and is a good driver, but no one cares about being first at race mile 55. As long as you're close, you're good. That's about a good spot to get some splits and wheather you need to pick up the pace a little or chill a little.

Now when Pete broke at terribles town last year with about 4 miles to go...and was leading the race...that's like getting kicked in the balls. I could feel his pain on that one!!!! That race was all locked up, including the overall, and he got the rug pulled out from under him. It was also a rear end on that one too.

2007 Baja 1000. Didnt even change a tire until we flatted at RM 1150ish.... then got another flat. Then with 94 miles to go the rear end started howling like there was no tomorrow but we just kept trucking. Ended up 4th right behind RG...

After the finish we noticed that the rear end had finally stopped leaking.. come to find out it was becuase there was no oil left in it!!! Then went to start the truck to move it and it would start. The ground wire was in shambles. Still got 4th however!!!
