Broke the forward yoke on the front driveshaft out at Pismo today. Truck is an 04 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel with Fabtech 6" lift. So, should I go with an OEM replacement, or is there a better option?
Thanks...

We've been racing these trucks for quite a while and never broken a stock front yoke. IMO they're plenty strong enough. I'd check that you're not binding something at full droop with that lift.
That's pretty much what I was thinking. I was just surprised that the yoke broke rather then the u-joint. The worst part is that it whipped around and cracked the tranny pan too.

I'm no driveline expert, but I've been told that when the yoke breaks the first thing to suspect is binding due to excessive angle. If the u joint breaks then its more likely due to torque/shock loading. But this advice is free and worth precisely that.
Makes sense to me. I do appreciate the response.
