Re: Baja 500 official results
and i'm sure they wont post sportsman truck cheating violations because no one really gives a s--t anyway, but if they did, i'm almost certain we went 62 mph on the hiway crossing at rm 80 . i'm sorry. so very, very, sorry. we meant no harm.....quack. if we did'nt get penalized, i'd feel left out.

Re: Baja 500 official results
One of the things that has always surprised me in the discussion of rules in desert racing is how misunderstood or just plain unknown the rules are by the people who post. I spent alot of time doing sissy sports like sailboat racing and golf and in both the rules are known by the competitors and used to take advantage and followed closely and amended as needed. If Scores rule book said go from checkpoint to checkpoint , no holds barred , great , but it does not , and I think everyone is going to be doing some reading before Prim or the 1000. If the racers want different rules get the book changed or learn to follow them.

Re: Baja 500 official results
I posted this on teamgreen's thread and didn't get a response so figured I'll try it here. How does SCORE calculate the penalty minutes? Is it in the rulebook? Fueling on the pavement is a definite no-no, but 90 minutes for one dump can splash seems excessive . . . .

Kudos to SCORE, the Baja 1000 will be interesting. On a side note, did RG's crew send a film crew out to where Norman cut the course? Film at 11.

My hat is off to SCORE, IRC and Sal Fish. It's a little bit of a shock and hard to fathom they would go to this level. Sal had to start somewhere and he took a hard line. It will be interesting to see if some of the rules change now since some of the rules are contradictory and others vary for the US versus Mexico. I didn't see RG's crew filming me during the race, but one of his team members went pre-running with me for two days before the race and made this video.

I think everyone is shocked because SCORE never really nailed people like this before even when people caught people cheating..and score not doing anything about it......so to have them put the hammer down this time makes it look like the rules are there only sometimes and not others..making this a shocking surprise.
