Agreed it's not the safest place to get gas. What I want to know is what does the rulebook say the time penalty is for a safety infraction? Or does it? Anyone . . . Bueller????

If you scroll down is a full explaination of the penalties and how they were ..............uhhh.......Awarded......If you wanna use that word.....I guess handed out is a better choice.....

I can only imagine the emotional swing that his team is going through.......I seriously wouldn't wish that on anyone.........

how about we dont dezert race on the pavement?????????? that would be a start to the speeding problem and the fueling on the hwy! this is off road racing not dual sport racing

I am only a 6 year fan but have always been a rules is rules kinda person and to give everyone a fair shot any any thing you have to have the rulebook.

I think that this shows that ALMOST everyone in the premier classes was for years pushing the envelope and if you werent you hadent won in Baja before....this will change A LOT.

Yes it will. These races might have to be won on actual talent now, not "planning".

I like it! Well done SCORE! It is about time. Now this is a statement. I bet NOW everyone will start paying attention to the true rules. Hats off to you Sal. This should of been the case a very long time ago. Better late than never.

This is where I went off course. I was following BJ and saw him on the lower road and I followed him on the second half. Not much of a deviation but now I know what "is" and "is not" allowed for the next race. Andy Grider and I spoke to Sal before the race about major shortcuts just to make sure they would not be tolerated like taking the highway from Borrego to San Matias, etc. I did not think to ask him about something that does not save time.

BITD ran a race down in Baja with out pavement sessions and only road crossings but it was not cost effective to pay more ranchers to run some hill sides next to the highway.

I was running with Ivan one year and SCORE said there going to penalize cars if your speeding by Cantamar dunes. Everyone went by Ivan because other teams realized the penalty was not as bad as the time you would gain.

To all the cheaters and non cheaters I just wanna say thank you all, because despite the final out come today, it was still one heck of an entertaining race !!!!!!! I didn't make it down there, but following it on RDC along with a whole grip of other people from start to finish... trackers showing people at 399mph TT's swimming in the pacific ocean ... it was all good ....and it was good from flag to flag !! viva la Baja offroad racing at it's best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
