Drive train combo question

I am planning on installing the whole drivetrain off of an 97 Explorer into a Ranger. The Ranger will have 9" axles with 4.56 gears and 35" tires.

The engine is a 302, transmission is 4R70W and the transfer case is Borg Warner 4405.

The engine and tranny will be upgraded for more power and strength. I am just questioning the tcase. Is it any good? I have a gear driven I could slap in, but I just don't want to spend the money on the adapter.
