It is false, They never made custom frames for those trucks. I look at the Hardins every Tuesday and Thursday night at Jeff Lewis' shop Precision Fabrication, After working for MacPherson for 18 years Jeff states that its false.

Ya, Chevy frames suck. I mean, my truck has been to the frame fixing shop waaaaay more times than Jason's or any of my Dezert Ranger buddies... lol Must be that metal that God hand molded and added to my POS Chevy.

The stock S10 frame is probably made out of something harder than 4130. I can't see GM making a frame out of a low carbon steel but I could be wrong. I'm not sure what Ford makes the ranger frames out of but it is some pretty hard stuff.

ya, i believe the cracking and bending is from insufficient crossmember area, not from weak material. a bunch of stress on a big part that doesnt have a lot of support.
