    Re: oil question

yer right about the trans. ONLY use synchromesh oil. its pretty pricey but that is the oil you SHOULD run. as far as the coolant goes, ditch the dexcool only as long as your factory or extended warranty IS up. not before, unless you dont care about a voided warranty, "should" the unexpected happen.

    Re: oil question

DexCool is terrible, TERRIBLE stuff. Avoid that crap at all costs. I will NOT run that stuff in ANY of my vehicles ever again. A few years ago I had major problems with DexCool and right now there is a pretty good class action suit building against GM because the stuff goes from pretty orange to a sick baby brown in a year or two. Follow this link for more info: http://www.nbc4.tv/automotive/2369813/detail.html

Whatever you do, DON'T RUN DEXCOOL - even if the manual recommends it! The aluminum in your vehicle will live a happier life with the generic green stuff. If you want to see a sample of the DexCool sludge I'd be happy to scrape some out of my radiator for you.

    Aloha
