New arm was within 1lb. Tube arm had seen repetitive cracking also, it just needed tubes and material in the proper place to prevent it. Good spares.

Pretty sweet. . .
Concerning the VW-style trailing arms (post #106, picture #5). . .is there a particular reason that the inside of the inside leg has 3 pieces of sheetmetal forming an angled interior vs. one piece of sheet forming a flat face?
Was this done for increased rigidity, aesthetic appeal, personal preference???
I don't think there is anything wrong with it and I'm not criticisizing it. . .I'm just curious.
So are the TT lowers running bushings on the frame side?
I really like the upright! Where did you get the tire? Did you model it yourself, or did you import from somewhere? Same with the brake caliper. . .
Thanks for sharing! Gives me inspiration to get busy!!!

Couple reasons, the rolled tube is an off the shelf item so the angle of the tube and angle of the inner most plate are different. The bends keep the material following the edge of the rolled "tube". The bends also increase the strength of that individual part as well.

TT lower uses a bushing. Tire was generously given from another designer.

Here's the latest rear arm for a VERY patient customer ! I'm sure Stephen will post up pics when he's done welding it all up.
Customer wanted a boxed rear arm to replace his plated tube one. I did some simple surface probing with our Romer arm to get critical points to start with, added uniball cup, pinch bung, and micro stub tube, then started throwing sheetmetal at it! here's where I ended up.
