"Testing" in the Primm area
So we're getting ready for an upcoming race and was thinking of testing near Primm. Anybody know where a good spot to park, unload and test an area that would be a good shakedown? Maybe a 69 mile run
We've been there before but want to steer clear of areas that are off limits and oh yea, turtles

Exit Jean, go east to the "T" at the fire station then north on the frontage road. Up a mile or so on the east is the pit area. Small bumps in the pit and bigger bumps in either direction on the race course.

Watch out, all the Vegas teams will be doing 69 mile test loops around last years course, but in reverse. Home court advantage. Look out for the out of towners with the budgets and time - they won't be testing in Plaster City or Barstow for this race; they will be going to Primm as well.

Re: "Testing" in the Primm area
it is concidered an open area till the track is marked then it is closed so you want to make sure it is not marked blm can give you a DQ before you even make it out for the race
and alot of people use the dry lake area for recreation also so just keep an eye out for others

Re: "Testing" in the Primm area
just got home from 2 days of testing at Jean Lake. Put together about a 25 mile loop that worked pretty good. Not too many people running around on Thursday or Friday.(except for the crazy guy in the bmw doing doughnuts in the loake bed). that was some funny sh.....ttz!!!!

When you are out around Jean, please be careful not to run over the ocean of shotgun shells, broken glass, pieces of wood, metal, tires, tvs, hottubs.... a very delicate ecosystem that we pay the BLM to protect.

and don't be alarmed when you come around a corner and see people with automatic weapons shooting at random objects, refrigerators, toilets, etc..
