Yes I am insane. What's your excuse?

You actually believe that $50 million for a $100 million+ team is actually accomplishing something? You seriously need some counseling or rehab. The only thing he accomplished is selling a team for probably half its worth.

He had a great driver in Kahne, but they did not accomplish a whole lot. A few wins.

Like I said before it takes a team to be successful. Not just a driver or crew chief. So Jimmy and Chad are a perfect fit for each other and they may be successful w/o each other, but nowhere near as together.

That was the point of my post...just as Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham have seen some success since their Rainbow Warrior days, none of it compares to their domination of the sport in the mid to late '90s. I believe it would be in both Jimmy's and Chad's best interests to stay together as a team....

At the time this deal went down, I guess it could be argued that it was worth 100 million, but considering what has happened since then; Chrysler problems, economy dump, Ray does looks like a pretty smart man to me, and is Chrysler even worth 100 million as a company? Kayne or that entire team hasn't lit the world on fire since Ray left either. Gillette will be gone in two years.

    Re: Jimmy F'n Johnson.

Why I care to defend myself, I dont know... But to answer all of your questions... I don't like football, I don't follow baseball very close, but if I have to choose a baseball team I pull for the Padres or Angels (Angels fan since I was a kid, before the red jerseys and rally monkey). Play golf but don't watch it and bicycle racing is only good for the wrecks. Haven't been following off road racing very long, I guess I'm a new breed of fan who's growing up on short course. I cant say who an all time great is because I'm still new, but Ive read a lot about who people say are greats. Although if I was a betting man I would always put money on Brendan Gaughan racing on dirt. I've been a NASCAR fan since age 9, rooted for Jeff Gordon and team. Jimmie Johnson rolled onto the BGN scene and started following him cause he's from El Cajon. Then he signed on with Hendrick/ JG which rocked. Only Hendrick driver I didn't ever care for was Kyle Busch... was glad to see him go.
Disgruntled Chula Vistan... till we get racing back to where it belongs... haha
