***important 349x mike kay*** please read/respond
Weatherman/score ops has been looking for rider 349x since yesterday? He might have quit the race and just did not communicate that info to score ops. Do you know him? Have you heard from him? Please call 760-475-0409 with any updated info.
Thanks!

From Cafehusky.com, posted by the rider himself:
"
No injury. Bike had some issues with both the clutch and some electrical stuff after an early crash (knocked down while passing an eratic slower rider) and then a serious mechanical failure later. I think the crash did some minor damage that lead to major damage..but really I wont know what happened till i tear into it, sometime in January. Lots of speculation, but really its impossible to say.
5 of the 13 guys who raced our class DNFed. Thats baja. Unfortunately it was our time to be one of those who go home tired and broke and frustrated.
I ended up spending the night at Baja Pits #3. They had some food and a warm sleeping bag and a tent for me. Very nice of them. Big thanks to 'los Perdidos' the club from TJ who was running that pit for their kind hospitality. Later a class 8 truck running far behind pulled up with hydraulic issues. We all pitched in and got it going, they graciously strapped the Husky to their race truck and we made our way back to pavement and our chase crews. Unfortunately my team wasnt sure if i was hurt or just broken, causing them some concern. Sorry they had to endure that. I was out of communication range in a lonely stretch of baja surrounded by mountains. Sorry too that some of the racers on our team never got to race the bike. Real bummer. Its happened to me in past baja 1000's. Really sucks, actually.
Big thanks for all the help from our chasers-Cant do baja without em.
Big thanks to Uptite for all the help. Big thanks to 7602 for the nice products. Big thanks to Rob Barnum for suspension help and related stuff. Big thanks to all who pitched in to allow us to get a Husky in the race. Very nice of CHer Huskyrelic to stop by and say hello.
On a positive note it did feel like the beginning of a solid core of Husky loving baja racers and supporters spent some intense time in baja, both on and off their Huskys.
I really hope it grows into something solid. As a 'team' i have no doubt this group could win either class 30 or 40, or both. Time will tell.
San Felipe 250 is in March. See ya all there, of course, on a Husky. Me thinks i wont be the only red and white bike...
Congrats to SCORE for putting on another great race."
Thanks
CA Stu

Mike - Your team and loved ones were so extremely concerned that I suggested to SCORE Operations that Paul over fly the areas to the south where you may have been diverted off course. This is when Dennis and four riders from your team set out in search of you. They were covering all the possible routes you could have taken. Then I find out you were safe in San Felipe!!!!!!
This is a lesson for all learn and learn well. When you are out of the race, let everyone know that you are out. That you are safe and you make sure that your team is notified.

Don't mean to sound like a suck-**BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME**, but you really did a great job weatherman! Your sense of humor would slip out every so often, mostly when things got crazy and we all thought that was cool. I am hoping you don't ever have your hands tied up again with tracking issues like you did this time.
