Yeah, bad idea to get more people involved in the sport, especially for those schmoes trying to eek out a living building/supplying stuff. Horrible!

Man Up!!! Milk doesn't come from plastic containers!!
Translation: By not designing and building your own vehicle, at least to the degree that Roger Norman and Robbie Gordon do.... You are missing at least 50% of what the sport is all about.
It's about building a contraption that can race across the desert at break neck speeds.
Take a look at the "More Old School Photos" thread... That 1975 Maico came from the factory with 4" of rear wheel travel... The Germans had perfected the front forks, but didn't have a clue about the rear wheel travel... So you had to take your bike to Cooper Motors and have it modified... That was part of the process of racing...
When Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Honda come out with a little strictly off road truck, that will probably be similiar to the Trophy-Lites.... you'll all be playing that old school harp that I'm plucking....

Trophylite handles all the deal making for the class. Teams were notified months ago and asked if they would commit to supporting this race after Hendersen, before any decissions were made. Who wouldn't get there truck ready to race 2 weeks in a row for your chance at over $22,000+ ???
Naah, You know better, the economic times are killing us all, that is why we are racing Trophylite, it is the only class that has a huge payback each race and a huge year end bonus that can cover our cost for racing. Thank you to great companies like General Tire, Fox Shox, KC HiLites, KMC wheels, MasterCraft, Currie and The Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. They see the value and we support their products. Wait until you hear whats going on for next year, it's not too late to get involved in the class and race for your share, instead of complaining.Oh ya, did I mention you will have to drive the same trucks as we do and race against some great drivers to win your share????
Everybody entered in the BITD race except us is entered at Laughlin, we will be entered soon, as well as other trucks.
10 Trophylite teams will more then cover the cost of the $10,000, that the chamber has put up. Our team eats and drinks 24 hours a day and we are not so good at gambling either. Plus we need a place to sleep and buy gas. Do the math.
Thanx RJ...all of your posts are put perfectly!
I am so bummed out on RDC....its a friggin joke! I am done on this site! I havent been on here in a week or so and was all stoked to see a few cool videos from the thousand and then this! I cant believe that the mods allow this type of BS to go on for this long! This used to be a great informative site that was enjoyable. Now Its a few idiots that ruin it for everyone! no wonder no big name drivers come on here anymore.....come on mods, grow some and put this crap to end. And im not just talking about this thread, im talking about all business bashing threads. That should be between the 2 parties involved. This type of public bashing is a cancer for our sport and is terrible for our contributing sponsors some of whom are on here. And for people to want to take purse money from a class because of a business deal that has gone south is hilarious!....YA that will happen!
WAJ is right!

I realize that if I want to race SNORE then that is the way it will be. Also, I tore my truck up at every SNORE race this year, didn't get payed when I won CALIENTE but did get payed for the mint, and also losing to a TL by less then a minute with a non legal TL/MM at BAP. ALL that for what? Laughlin chamber of commerice picking TL to get the 10k, when they did not support SNORE for the past year. Mason Motorsports and Palapa Boy racing did, along with a lot of other classes that won't be racing for the 10,000. I just want this year over so I can re-group and figure out what to do for next year. I am not complaining or saying that I should get more, but with the way that SNORE is, wanting us to drive 400 miles, two weekends in a row to vote for something that we are not going to be able to change, seems like we are fighting an uphill battle. Anyways, wish all a happy holiday and a great new year.
All of your posts basically consist of being bummed out that you cant race against TL's.....basically almost every TL bashing thread consists of that!
Well guess what you dont own a TrophyLite so why would you be able to race in our class? Just because you built a truck that looked just like a ProTruck would that mean you can race in ProTruck....of course not, its a SPEC class! I can just hear it now " oh come on Ivan, its the same truck, umm well its close, see it its similar, well not really,i ts wider, it has a different motor, a different trans..etc etc. etc.?????so WTF? why would a non TL truck race in a TL race? makes no sense at all?
And why all the hatered against our payback? if your truck is so great why doesnt your builder put his own class together...go out bust his azz to get series sponsors to put up tons of cash and then you could put TL out of business.... Or for that matter any other class it doesnt have to be a spec class, if its that easy just go out and get your own sponsors to put up money, I guess small companies like General Tire, KC hilights, FOX shocks, Curry, Mastercraft must all be fools to be putting money into our little class? this must be there first BBQ?
Considering we are going into our third year with them as the same sponsors, I would strongly disagree......
Rant on....

Jack read my post again where did you get your info in my post to say what you said? Get off your high horse and think about what you are posting before you post. Laughlin is not a TL race, at SNORE BAP, it wasn't a TL race and the TL's raced in the MM class. It is not about racing for the 10k, if that is for the TL class than that is fine, but we should be running in the same class when it is not a TL sanctioned race. Not that I am backing Pete, but once again if it is not a TL race than all the MM, TL and 3000's should be racing together, not for the 10k (reserved for TL) but for the SNORE points and money at a SNORE race. To me it is about the competition and comraderie(sp?), not about the money, so start collecting your alum. cans for your entry fee.
Were not here for a long time........ Just a good time!!!...

Re: greg foutz now trying to block my trucks from racing the SNORE race.......WTF?
why is it called a "bashing" thread just because people like to read and comment on how trophylite treats its customers and how it mysteriously gets the laughlin chamber of commerce to donate $10k to a class with five entries??? ........is it a concindence that a "smith" is on that board and a "smith" is in that class???? hhhhmmmmm.....makes me wonder.....

I was just wondering what do you really know about trophylite or even what you just said in this post?????????
Just to let you know, Roger Norman is a stand up guy and has a top notch racing team and shop at which he preps his own vehicles, but his trophy trucks are not built by him. His current truck is Nick Baldwin's former trophy truck which is a copy of the Riviera TT, a former Robby Gordon TT.
Just like every other arm chair racer and Sunday morning quarter back you should not feed to the bashing and keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.
