Which Class to Start in?
Hey guys new to the site. I have one race behind me and was wondering if anybody had any thoughts about which is the best class to start in. I was in the VORE truck at the RATR and had a blast now definately hooked. Vore did a great job for us and am now looking forward to the Mint 400. There doesn't seem to be any of these types of trucks available for sale so I am off to the next step.
I am comitted to buying my own car/Truck but I could use some advice.
Obviously I know I am not going to start with a Class One or TT. Although I am a big Horsepower guy from my SCCA days.
Thanks

Re: Which Class to Start in?
Thanks Ed I haven't been in one and they look fun but I was looking to start with something that I could run for a few years before moving up. With the Stock Bugs I might be looking to move up after a year.

The question is: How much money do you have?

Re: Which Class to Start in?
I have a budget for sure like most and will only do about 4 or 5 races a year. I want to be challenged and be competitive.
I will make the necessary amount available for the right ride.
I am not willing to committ Class One money my first year.

I would say if you want to be competitive then a Class 1600 buggy would be a better place to start in. Doesn't seem to be too many Class 10 out there and the 1600 class usually has the most entries in most races.
On the truck side you would be better off in 1450. Great class, lot's of entries. Or a Trophy lite will give you great racing, and good payback.
Both of these classes will give you a couple of years of good racing and teach you the fundamentals of a buggy or truck.

Re: Which Class to Start in?
Sorry for my ignorance but aren't the Class 6 and 7200 the same depending on the sanctioning organization/
