Re: 2004 Schedule
If we can pull this one off, the course seems to be around a 30 mile loop, theres small trees, sand and volcanic rock. Some hills, both up and downs, washs, turns and straight aways.
oh wait, that sounds like a lot of courses, except for the trees.................

Re: 2004 Schedule
Rich, if Vorra needs any help getting this Bend/Millican Valley race off the planning table please give us a shout. Tony Mclaren, Melsheimer, T. Kruse, Hescock, D. Brown. T.Francis and I am sure there are others up here in the Oregon and S Wash area that can lend hand.
Here is your first sponsorship proposal from my business for the Bend Race: $100 for fast lap in Sportsman Class, and $100 for the "overall" fastest lap, and $100 for fastest "overall " finish time, and $50 for the longest (slowest) single lap time to help out someone with mechanical or other problems
Wa all up here WANT this race to happen badly. Millican is a neat facility with varied terrain similar to Yerington (with juniper trees) but shorter.

Re: 2004 Schedule
Cool, right now it seems that we need to find a piece of private property for staging. The lady I'm working with is names Sarah, and she is located in the Prineville office.

Re: 2004 Schedule
A desert race in Oregon ? WOW!!!!
Might just have to visit the grandparents in Powell Butte about next Sept..........
I've thot for years that the whole dry side of OR has potential for race courses, just wasn't sure about participants.

Re: 2004 Schedule
Ok- So who remembers O.O.R.A.? They raced there in Paisley about 1983...You know Paisley, Oregon? You haven't heard of it...Biggest sport there is Rattlesnake Hunting? I believe that was where Weyrich the younger ran his first race? Wasn't it a white and blue 5 car with reduction boxes? I think your dad overalled it? May have been another "W" from Oregon...it was a long time ago.

Re: 2004 Schedule
Last time I was thru Paisley was T-day weekend, '98. '83 would have been 2 years too late for me to have seen any races though. That whole stretch down thru the Paisley area is promising though.
Any idea if the OORA course is still viable ?
