Bump Stops on a buggy??
Do you run bump stops for the rear of your buggy?
I keep blowing seals on my king kongs and I suspect it is from bottoming out. The shocks eat whoops but on g-outs and jumps bottoms out…
the King guys tuned them and I am going to tune them again, but am woundering if some bump stops would be good to install before they tune them again???

Re: Bump Stops on a buggy??
They are run on our race series vehicles for that very reason, soft enough to handle great but unexpected g outs will blow seals eventually. Go with a 4" stroke bump it will help in the long run.

Sounds like they have your pre-runner tuned for comfort. The 4” has a little tube to tune the bump zone, just turn it in 4-6 times.

You need to grab a hold of that line between speed and chaos, and you need to wrestle it to the ground like a demon cobra"

RL
my experience is mostly in "sand"....but here is my 2 cents anyway
;
i love turns....and going into turns at speed
bumps (properly set up) can make a HUGE difference....
IMHO this pic (of a 4000+ lbs front engine play Truggy i made) is saying more than a thousand words;

with 4 corner bumpstops (if you look close you can see the front one poking out over the A-arm) you can have a comfortable ride AND charge into a steep transition like that at great speed and take a lot of momentum into the turn ..... without bumps you have to take sharp transitions the (slow) old fashioned way: lift the throttle, take the transition and then "point and shoot" out of the turn.
IMHO i think the front sway bar is also a great tool to fight the "bottoming out" of the (outside turn) front tire

would you please post some close up pictures. Sounds like the set up I need. For example in Barstow can ride all day long no issues, go to Glamis and within 50 miles of driving the shocks are leaking...
Thanks in advance!
