Race Sportsman and save a few $$
Make your $$ count, race a limited class, it last longer.

Well, maybe we could run a pair of other races. But depends on the budget.

Why? because is score, it IS another level, and we want to try it out.

Hell, maybe we are wrong, but I will be pushing the car thru contingency maybe behind or infront of a TT in a SCORE race, and that alone i think is worht it.
Acoplados class 9 from CODE did that a few seasons ago, they skipped the whole CODE season to do some SCORE races and you're right, San Felipe is a completely different animal than anything this side of the border.

If it hasn't been mentioned yet I think the radio fee is for the Weatherman (well worth it IMHO)

The entry fees are the least of my worries money wise.

I have raced in both the Score & BITD series' for many seasons. In my opinion there is no substitute for the beauty & diverse off road terrain in Baja! 100% my favorite place to race. the people down there are awesome. True diehard (and sometimes crazy) off road racing fans. I can remember many times prerunning to LaPaz and being between the silt beds near Santa Rita & La paz and seeing spectators on the course 3 weeks before the race! Here in the States spectators often times can't watch on the day of the race! Hope our kids & their kids get the opportunity to race in such a beautiful place.

You are right - race both. You can't compare San Felipe to BAP.

San Felipe is one of the greatest and funnest races there is.

Anger Issues, maybe it is time to look for a new class - one with competition and cheaper to run.

BUT... I really WANT to race San Felipe, it's always been my favorite!

There comes a point, however, where you have to ask whether 1 day of going fast is worth it... especially when you consider that nobody else may show up in my class!! Most contingency companies won't pay if you don't have at least 3 in class. Man this is sounding pointless!!!

Shelling out over 2 grand... just to leave the line???? Oh God, I'm whining now. Maybe I'll just pick another weekend... show up, run the course, pat myself on the back, and not have to worry about hitting a spectator like I did last year.

Holy crap, I'm getting smarter by the minute!!

    Here is the breakdown:

    entry: 850
    insurance 450
    land use 75
radio fee 25 (wtf is that?)
    points fund 50
    membership x 2 150
    annual cage inspection 275
    IRC rental 275.

Thank goodness I have the cheesy piece of aluminum already installed, or that would be another 275!

Oh, and don't miss the March 4 deadline, or that's another 200!!!

Can I have some cheese with this rant please???

Are you only going to race 1 race in SCORE this year??? the cost of the race is around 1600.00 if you figure ANNUAL cage inspection, not just 1 race,as well as the membership, one year also,But the if the IRC is 275 per race??? that seems a little much, but it is much safer..
If you think can or can't,your right!!!!

You get hurt...you are flown out of Mex no questions asked (or money spent out of pocket).
    Even at night?

I guess it must be an urban legend that they dont fly at night in mex.
