A wind energy company is looking to put test towers in the Stoddard Valley OHV area (see copy of letter and proposed ROW attached). Comments should be directed to Roxie Trost at the Barstow field office. If you see what is happening in Primm with the solar companies, this looks like the beginning of a big problem in Barstow. Exactly!! This is the new way to get land for pennies on the dollar by hiding behind a "green" project, and offroad areas must be an easy target. This is why Teddy Roosevelt created the national park service to protect forests from lumber interests. 100 years later, we have a new reason that the public needs help for access to their lands.

Wow!! When asking for Right-of-Way (ROW) I’m under the impression that is asking for permanent access. Now if it was worded “Temporary Access Easement” it would mean just that “Temporary” for the study. Everyone should get involved in this because it appears the writing is on the wall for a future closure.

There is only one reason to put test towers at 3 distinctly different locations within the OHV area, and ask for ROW, and that is they are planning on a wind farm. If this happens, the days of racing in Barstow will be done.

Yes, they will be. Plus, they will get the blessing from the Govt, plus they will get money from the us/Govt to keep us out of our land. We cant get pushed anywhere because of lawsuits by CBD/Sierra clubbers. LETS MAKE SOME NOISE!

Does anyone have a "sample" letter to send in?? Im not the best at this type of letter and would like to express my feelings on the matter to the correct people. Thanks

Honestly, I would contact CORVA and the Blue Ribbon Coalation for direction and possible sample letters on this. They have the lobbiests in place and can provide informed direction here - they may already have a battle plan

This is by far the most important thread on here. it needs to be sticky and stay near the top. Who's testing what, or who's going to beat whom, or what shocks are you running are all intertaining threads, but they all won't mean a thing if we dont have a place to race anymore.
