    Re: Texana 180 March 27th

Really excited about what is going on with offroad racing here in Texas. It's not looking good for me to make the race this coming weekend. My 2 year old does not sleep well and mommy is due in two months and still having morning sickness.
Our new 5 car was damaged pretty bad in the Baja 1000 last year when a class 1 drilled us from behind. He hit us so hard the throttle was stuck at 3000 rpms. The impact moved the motor and cracked the torsion housing. 350 miles later the housing finally gave way and the car was dragging bottom. We patched it together with ratchet straps and continued. 31 miles from the finish line and with time to spare, one hill with deep ruts keep us from going any further. Had we not been delirious from being in the car for 29 hours we should of jack up the car and tapped a stick or pipe to the shocks to hold up the rear end and finished the race. We were not happy about not finishing but pretty stoked that we made it 95% of the way.

I have the new torsion housing and pivots in the 5 car and could probably finish it by Wed. but probably don't need to leave mommy at home alone. If I do make it we might need help putting a crew together and maybe a co rider.
We could race our 5/1600 but would like to sell it to make room for a Class 10.
If you guys know of anybody looking for a good new car thats Score Tagged our 5/1600 has one race in OK. and about 150 miles of pre running in Mexico.

Kirby...we know family always comes FIRST! More races later this year...no worries. If you guys do decide to come out...we can help with both the crew and the co-rider.

    Eddy,

I don't know how you got your numbers, but the payout to the class winner was only about $60 or $65. You are getting pretty upset about a small amount of money. The way I understand it is you wanted to move up a class. To do that, you had to get the permission of everyone in that class. You failed to do that. About half the class did not know they were "racing " you. Therefore, you were not officially in the class and not eligble for the payout. John was very gracious and gave you a trophy.

I have always enjoyed talking to to you at the races. John works his but off to put on a great race at a low cost. He has lost money at almost every race (if not all of them). He allows us to race at a low cost and have fun with a lot of new friends. We would love to see you come back and race with us, but you need to get over the $65.

John still owes us from the last race when I told him we wanted to enter class 12. We got there and there was a total of 8 vehicles grouped together in the class. That was fine but when it came time for payouts, it never happened because then John wanted to classify cars then. We won that class in our 1600. We were also 4th overall behind 2 class 1's and 1 TT. Unless your will to pay us what you owe us John, you won't see us back for this very reason. Oh and by the way we were 3rd overall in Eric OK behind 2 TT. I think you all just don't like getting you ** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA** beat by a 1600 with 2 guy that are basicly over the hill and fat driving it. Were going to go play out in the big pond at the Mint and race with some real competition.

    Now let the flames begin!!!!!!!
Hey Eddie, we met you last year at the Sweet 200 (We had the other "Fast Eddie" with us) and you really seemed like a a cool guy, so I don't quite understand what your crying about. You did great and got a lot of respect for from everyone on your finish, and you looked and acted stoked when you visited our pits, so why are you flaming John now? I realize you made a long trip to be there, but I have to believe it was all about the excitement of racing, the competition, and the brotherhood of racers, rather than the money or a trophy. As you surely know, desert racers are a close knit family, and I've come to believe desert racing is more about respect, attitude, and character.... as without one or more of these, your just using up oxygen. How much money does John owe you? Also, before you got in your car and raced, what did you believe you could expect if you placed? Not hatin on you brother, just want to make sure your the same guy I met at the race, and not an imposter.

And this is from a guy who just spend WADS of $$$$$ to go 10 miles........ Good attitude! Its about the trip not the finish.

So are you guys going to have the truck at Mint to race?
    See you in the dirt!

Howdy Steve, Didn't make it to the SF 250 as I had a prior engagement with my wife & daughter at Lake Tahoe for Spring Break. My son Billy, his brother in-law Wes, and Wes Sr. all went to SF and had a blast (Even though the rear suspention of the Bajalite went down at the 10 mile marker). The stock 150 they took (and have been working on for 6 months) made the 250 miles with no issues, but it was a test race and they honestly were not pushing it. I am trying my best to get a vehicle up there to Sweetwater, but we'll have to see. Much rather be here in Texas than anywhere else. I will know at the end of the day today.

A lot of us were following bajalite and Team Texas. The truck looks like it has a lot of potential. To bad it only made it 10 miles. Hope to see you at Sweetwater. With the truck would be best, but we understand the short urn around time from the 250.
