Yeah it was a battle for sure! You guys sure have a motor in that truck as it showed on the start both days! You put about 5 trucks on all of us until the big sweeper where the driving began!
Sat was fun but a little frustrating as we would build a 10-15 second lead entering the 25mph zones only to leave the speed zones with Kyle back on our bumper. We were a solid 25mph on the dot as our gps, and 3500 rpm showed on the tack, after the race Kyle admitted 27-29 mph, but hey thats racing. After the driversmeeting We though man these guys aren't kidding about this speed thing so I guess we were overly cautious!
As for the blocking thing.... Kyle would definatly reel us up in the long soft sand straights, and even gave us a tap once in an area where there was no passing, but aside from that it was good tight racing not blocking.
I was bummed to hear your trans went out but truth be told, we took the lead from the SMT truck at the end of the first lap going onto the lake bed when he almost yard sailed it on one of the large mounds by the powerline crossing. We were within a truck length the whole lap and seen the whole bottom of his truck on two wheels when we passed on the inside to take the lead and I can tell you the tranny was working fine at that point cause the battle continued for another half lap until he faded with said problem.
Anyway it was an awesome race and one of the best battles I have had in the couple years I have been racing the 729 truck. Kyle is a really talented 16 year old kid and I look for him to be a force to reacon with in years to come in whatever he races. Looks like were gonna check out some Plaster city races in the near future and hopefully have some more good battles with the SMT guys!
