Competitive Metals Sponsors DRIVE 2010 Championship Series

    March 2, 2010
    El Centro, CA
    Contact: Doug Wasser - 760-791-7663 - doug@drive-racing.com

DRIVE Off Road Racing is proud to announce Competitive Metals as the 2010 championship series sponsor. The Race-Dezert.com 250, the first 2010 Plaster City race for DRIVE, will kick off under the new title of Competitive Metals 2010 Championship Series presented by DRIVE.

Doug Wasser - President DRIVE Off Road Racing -"As a start up series, we depend heavily on our sponsors. Not just for financing, but for support within the off road community. Having companies like RDC, ORW, FiberwerX, and now Competitive Metals supporting us makes it easier for us to do our jobs. Our job is to set the stage for the racers and let them do what they do best. Adding the Competitive Metals name to the series is the weight we needed to tip the scales from start up to progressive. Competitive Metals and company owner Greg Parker shares the same passion for local off road racing that all of us at DRIVE have. Our goal is to push Plaster City and California racing to the next level with the support and enthusiasm of our new series title sponsor".

Greg Parker - "Having over 30 years experience in new metals and manufacturing processes, it's no accident Competitive metals is a leading distributor of chromoly, steel and aluminum products to top fabricators and racers in the United States and Mexico. No matter how large or small your metal needs are everyone is welcome at Competitive Metals, our experienced staff is at your service, because all of our customers are treated like winners."

Greg himself is an accomplished drag racer and off road racer and has been involved in and supporting motorsports since 1975.

Re: Competitive Metals Sponsors DRIVE 2010 Championship Series

Thank you so much Greg!!! Competitive Metals 2010 Championship Series That is AWESOME!!!!

Also thank you to Klaus and John, Jay and the ORW crew, and Jason McNeil and the FiberwerX team. It's so crazy to think about last season and how this has all progressed into the DRIVE 2010 Competitive Metals Series.

Each of these companies are so incredibly cool to support DRIVE financially and even more by lending their names to what we are trying to accomplish at each race out in Plaster City.

I can remember our first race (last years RDC250) wondering to myself how in the hell did we get Klaus & RDC to step up with us!?!?!

and then Jason and the whole Fiberwerx crew not only supporting us, but letting us have our drawing party at their open house. When Amy and I showed up to the Fiberwerx parking lot for the drawing party it was like getting into the Off Road Expo for free! It was nuts that they could pull that kind of a crowd together just by saying "we're having a party"

And then Jay at ORW letting us hang with him at CODE's Jacume' race. Getting to know him and getting his advice and guidance (in addition to the crazy antics!). Thanks Jay!!!!

And now Greg and Competitive Metals has decided to support DRIVE in a BIG way

The whole reason I'm bringing this up is that each of these guys are genuine/down to earth people with a love for the desert and off road racing. I think that they probably met Doug at some point along this DRIVE journey and realized that his heart was in the same place. Kudos to you Doug!

The fact that these companies have become part of the DRIVE family speaks volumes about the kind of person that you are as well as the way you have made DRIVE more than just a race promoter. The Plaster City OHV area is better as a result of all you efforts, both on and away from the race course.

    This season will be great!

    Thank you again Greg
