Hey now, I've never rolled your car. Too easy to drive.

Cody, is this a two seater or a single seater? If it is a two seater, go for a ride with someone that knows how to drive and you will quickly learn the difference. If it is a single seater, you will have to learn to talk to yourself. The difference between a 5-1600 and a 1/2-1600 is that the 5-1600 wants to kick, and when you roll it is most likely Assoverteakettle. In a 1/2-1600 it is usually a barrel roll because you will find yourself carring a lot more speed into turns. Don't worry about it - just drive it!

I agree if you can get a 5-1600 around a track and do good you can drive anything you just have to think faster. 5-1600 is a great class to learn the fundamentals of racing in offroad have a ball you will love it good luck.

Cody drive it like you don't have to pay to fix it! Tell Rollover Rob Brett said so!
for sure run the start to zoo road a good couple of times. the rally road in and the whoops will get you up to speed in no time. I also find the staying in the main groove saves time over trying to cut back and forth. When the engine boggs in the sand go look for the hard pack or some whoops so the rpms come backup and whatever you do dont letup on the lake bed! every second your foot comes off the floor someone is making time on you! get some!!!!!

Thanks for the input everyone. To answer some questions I will be racing with rob archibald in his single seat 1600 which is adam phankuch's old car. I'm hoping that the old saying if you can drive a 5-16 you can drive anything is true... we shall see. I don't think ill be afraid to hit the whoops as long as the car can handle it. Hopefully I can pick it up fast. Either way it should be a fun experience and I'm looking forward to it

I'm thinking momemtum is the key with a 1600 because of the restricter plate.
5-16's have a little more grunt, so SF whoops & sand are gonna need a little more momentum to keep it going.
    Or not...

i'd say listen to Billy G... he is a SCORE 5/1600 champ in I think 1999 and the 2002 5/1600 baja 1000 winner... besides he has driven just about every class out there and been succesful in each... he's the man! he has loads of knowledge
