This is Going to Go Over Like a Fart in Church but… I really don’t care.

What is it going to take to get the entire off road community to get together as one group and start doing what we need to do to keep our OHV lands open. At this point we are fighting for what we have when we should be fighting for more areas to be opened.
We as a group are facing land closures every day but we can’t seem to pull it together to fight them. We should be getting assembled like a swarm of bees. When someone attacks the “nest” (Plaster City, Primm, AZ, Barstow, Johnson Valley, etc.) we as a group should be swarming into these areas to keep them open. But…for some reason we don’t.

There is a small group of people that stay on top of these issues and volunteer their time to keeping the deserts open. To this group, I apologize if this offends you. To everyone else…I’m calling you out!!

Why is it that 100,000 people go to the desert for New Years but only 200 show up for a clean up any other time of the year. It blows my freakin mind. Where in the hell do people think they are going to ride / drive in a few years if they don’t get involved other than spending a weekend in the desert.

Renewable energy and the greenies are coming to an OHV area near you. If we remain fragmented like we are now you can kiss off roading goodbye. Once we lose it we never get it back.

So here’s the call out. Find the nearest scheduled clean-up, fit it into your schedule, get your ass out there, pick up some trash, hang out with your friends, and stop making excuses for why you can’t make it. If you are a racer, schedule it as a test weekend. There isn’t a single clean-up that last more than 8 hours so you have plenty of time to test before and after. You also need to read the F-ing “Save the Desert” forum on any and all sites that you visit and respond to them.

You can spend all day watching off road racing videos on your computer and planning your next trip to the desert or a race but watching OLD races on your computer might be as close to the desert as you can get if you don’t get involved.

I heard a lot of excuses this weekend at the air show about why people couldn’t come to the April 3rd clean-up. They all sucked.

Excuses are like A-holes…everyone has one and they all stink!

Get up, get motivated, and get involved. Otherwise…get out of the way.
