TH350 cables. . .where to go they and what are they for???
I have a project vehicle that I just put a 350SBC backed by a TH350 into. . .this is my first automatic trans. in a vehicle (at least one that I'm putting in from scratch and/or doing anything other than changing the fluid on) so I have some pretty basic questions. . .
First, there is a cable coming from the front, passenger side of the transmission. . .the cable ends with a metal bracket that has a long slot in it. . .what is this for and where does it go?
Second, there is a cable coming from the bottom, driver's side of the transmission. . .it is attached to the tranny via a bracket that attaches to the trans. pan. . .what is this for and where does it go?
Last, there is a vacuum valve/switch on the rear of the trans. (passenger side). . .I believe this would be the automatic transmission modulator valve. . .is that correct? If so, then I should run a vacuum hose from that valve/switch to the vacuum connection in the rear of my intake manifold corret?
I'm posting this now without pictures, but I'm gonna run out and take some pictures of the cables that I'm talking about and post the pic's ASAP. . .the pic's will come off of a junk (cracked housing) TH350 that came with the project vehicle.
Thanks for your help guys!!!

Re: TH350 cables. . .where to go they and what are they for???
I am no expert but in pic #1 I believe that is for the kick down. That bracket should bolt to the intake manifold and the sloted end goes to the carb. Pic #2 is the shifter cable. Pic #3 is the vacuum modulator which requires a constant vacuum. It can go to the T fitting at the back of the intake manifold.

Re: TH350 cables. . .where to go they and what are they for???
Thanks again. . .I got the shifter cable & brackets hooked up to the tranny, got the kickdown cable hooked up to the tranny (easier to do with the tranny out of the chassis than with it in there. . .getting the cable hooked up to the actuator in the tranny is like trying to thread a needle in the dark when you're woring around the chassis and the cab!!!), and I got the vacuum hose routed from the vacuum modulator to the intake manifold. I just need to get the 3/8" nipple fitting for the intake manifold to finish up the vacuum.
Now I just need to hook the shift cable up to the shifter and the kickdown cable and bracket installed on the enigne side.
Anyone have a picture of the TH350 kickdown cable and bracket installed on their carb/intake manifold so that I can see how it's supposed to hook up?
Thanks!
