solid tranny mounts w/ solid motor mounts

i am in the process of building a 1450 ranger w a chevy small block and a turbo 400. i have heard and read that if i am doing solid motor mounts i shouldnt use solid tranny mounts. can anyone shed some light on this. im also debating if i should use a motor plate or just the regular type solid motor mounts.

    thanks.

Solid engine mounts=solid tranny mounts! If you don't do this something will go and it is usually the bellhousing. I learned this the hard and expensive way a long time ago. Mid plates are always a good idea because they help to support the weight of both components.

I would solid mount the motor, mid plate and rear trans mount.

I have looked at the BMS motor plate before. Nice stuff! Will it work for the mid mount between the trans and block? And what does that require just longer bolts to mate them together?
