I could definitely see this thing showing up at the Baja 300 in Germany this year. It would be his shortest trip for a SCORE race.

you'll be here in Late June? perfect timing - it's the longest, most important race of the year - the Golan to Eilat "cross-Israel" - about 600 KM, 10 hours (20 for the stragglers). it's our humble version of the 1000.

There is a long tradition of off-road racing in Israel - it is low key as motor-racing was not legal (nor strictly illegal... long story) but is now finaly brought out to light.
Ido Cohen, whom I'm honored to call a friend, is the most prominent fabricator here, in the business for 25 years or so.
You can see regular coverage - in Hebrew - in Jeepolog.com.
Here's photos of the last race - that was actually cut short by a flush flood...

Agreed. There's a robotics competition for high school age students called FIRST Robotics. Every year the organization sets up this elaborate game where robots have to be able to throw things, carry things, and even lift themselves into the air, and then teams have six weeks to design, build, and program the robots to take part in the games. There's 49 regional events, then the championship in Atlanta, GA. It was originally solely a United States competition, but it's slowly spreading. 12 countries now have teams, but only three have more than 7 teams. United States (which has 153 teams in California alone), Canada (67 teams), and Israel with 51 teams. Israel also hosts the only regional competition outside of North America. Back when I was in HS and on a team we competed alongside and against a few Israeli robots. They always seem to have some of the best designs and most organized teams.
