Kyle Lucas Claims His First Podium Finish In Lucas Oil Off Road Racing
At only 20 years of age Kyle Lucas is tuning up the competitive spirit that has driven his family namesake and influenced nearly all realms of motorsport disciplines worldwide. Stepping up his program in a big way, Kyle has committed to the 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

Young Kyle may be new to the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series but he is a Limited Buggy racer with a fair amount of experience behind the wheel. His performance has improved steadily and it is apparent that a new challenger has entered the ranks of the Limited Buggy Division.

Kyle arrived to Surprise Arizona for Rounds 3&4 striving to prove his worth as racer and recover a bit of credibility that may have been lost in Las Vegas during LOORRS Rounds 1 & 2. Fridays qualifying delivered a shaky start to the weekends racing for Lucas. A shifter linkage issue developed and prevented Kyle from grabbing 2nd gear, however managed to pilot the #325 to the 10th fastest qualifying position. Saturday’s race showed great improvements since Las Vegas and Kyle was able to maneuver his Lucas Oil Mav TV Buggy up into position and the Goodyear Tires did the rest giving the needed traction to pass and drive through the talented field. His efforts were rewarded with a solid 4th place finish.
Sunday developed with Kyle Lucas qualifying 7th for Round 4. After an eight row inversion, Lucas would start from the front row. On the drop of the green flag, Kyle’s spotter directed him to protect the inside line. Coming out of Turn 1, the Lucas Oil #325 Limited Buggy pulled to the front and lead the race to the competition caution and collected a valuable bonus point for doing so. On the restart Quinton Tucker, winner from Round 3, had the best run and acquired the lead forcing Lucas back into 2nd. Newcomer Justin “Bean” Smith, pushed his way through as well and eventually overtook Tucker and went on to win the race. Kyle was thrilled to take his first podium in the very competitive Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

Kyle Lucas has stepped up his program and has aimed his sights on a 2010 LOORRS Limited Buggy Championship. Reflecting on the weekends races Kyle commented “I am really excited to know that I can drive competitively with the top guys in this division. Bean, Fraley, Fitzgerald, Knupp; All of these guys are very fast, and I can drive with very best of them. My plan from here is to keep things moving forward. This would not be possible without the support from Lucas Oil and Mav TV. I cannot wait for May 22 when we head back to Las Vegas for Rounds 5 & 6. I am up for the challenge.”
    AMERICA BLESS GOD!
