    solidworks help

I have solidworks 2010 premium, and am trying to design a light bar for my TRX450R. I have one built currently but I would like to be able to put it into solidworks so that I can show it to other easily, I kind of have the hang of the software but cant figure out how to design stuff out of tube and how to mate the tubes together. Thanks for the help.

    Re: solidworks help

I have not done something like this but using the sweep comand should work, first you have to create a path then a profile to follow that path, easy stuff.

Also try the structural member commands on the weldment toolbar.

    Re: solidworks help

its easier with structural members also you will need to download solidworks libraries for tube profiles
if straps, krazy glue or duct tape can't fix it you have a serious problem!

for most of the sports you need 1 ball... for offroad racing you need 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can actually make your own profiles but if you can download it may save you time. Id have to go back through it to remember exactly how I did it, but I opened a profile, modified it and did a save as in the profile library. Ive got all rollcage tubes, rectangular tubing, header tubing and some other weird shapes.

    Re: solidworks help

well I have been playing with it on and off lately and have only been able to make a straight piece of tube. So I just went out to the garage and did the old way of making stuff look at it and use hand motions on where I think the force would come from.
