    S10 Airbag

I am putting in a new steering wheel in my 97 S10 this week. The new steering wheel does not have an airbag so i want to know how it discharge the airbag I have now without making it come out. What wires do I connect to make it so that i can remove it and sell it again. Then once I put it in my airbag light will constantly be on so what wires do i need to connect to make it so that the light turns off. Thanks.

take it to a body shop and see if they will buy the air bag and remove it too. isn't a federal crime to tamper with a air bag if you are not certified to remove it? you might check and see to be safe. i have sold some here in az to the bodyshop down the street from us.

    Re: S10 Airbag

get a chilton's manual for 15 bucks , mine explains it perfectly ...

pull the fuse first , then they give you an order for unhooking. im pretty sure thats only important if its going back in though. it shows you how to unhook the 3 crash sensors too. best 15 bucks i've ever spent ....

I'm a nissan tech... I remove Airbags all the time.. no certification for it.. not sure if you will be able to remove the airbag and make the light shut off, but as for un-installing.. unhook the battery for like 20 min to clear the system of any charge!! then remove like normal.. but if yuo find a body shop to buy it and remove it... go for it!

    Re: S10 Airbag

A jumper could quite possibly work.. but as for the legality of re-sale.. not sure.. I would stick with the body shop deal there.
