On Any Sunday: Motocross and more...
I don't care who you are or where you came from On Any Sunday had an impact on off road racing. While looking for shows to download on NetFlicks I came across On Any Sunday: Malcolm, Motocross and More.
Wow, talk about feeling like a kid again. Lots of scenes not in the movie with comments from Malcolm Smith.
If you have no idea what I'm writing about... You need to watch On Any Sunday to learn what us old farts did with a few inches of suspension back in the day.

Re: On Any Sunday: Motocross and more...
Mike, it is crazy to watch what they actually got away with back then... from the gear they wore to the bikes.. just balls out with little protection & suspension. Every week or so I turn on the old VCR @ work and push play, and people come in and watch and it takes them back.. and for some we get a chance to see how is was done "back then".... I agree 100% if you have not seen "On any Sunday", pick it up & watch it...

That movie changed my life. It got me into dirt bikes and away from drag racing. I've never looked back. I'm 63 now and still ride whenever I can and I never miss a Baja race. When I talked to Malcolm at the NORRA race I thought that it's been a long time since I first saw him in the movie - and he and I are both still at it. I'm just at a lot slower than he is!!!!!

Limited suspension and no road grader smoothing out the desert.
Those old racers were tough.

Re: On Any Sunday: Motocross and more...
I saw On Any Sunday the first time at a Drive In Theater. Now that's old. I still really dig that movie. I was at an On Any Sunday reunion a couple of years ago and I have what I call my "Legends" jacket. It has a whole bunch of autographs from old school racers. I had many of the legends sign it that night. It's very cool. It will be a collectors item for someone someday.

Awesome movie for sure. For awhile my Dad and I would rent it every couple of years. I bought it for him for Xmas one year. Steve McQueen was the man on a bike!

In the early-mid 70's all of us knew every riders bike and number, we had all the best "cross-ups" from Dirt Bike Magazine up on our walls...And you knew every guy at school who was into dirt bike riding or racing...and then comes along this movie made for us!!
All hail "On Any Sunday".......

You can also watch a 68 or 69 hare and hound race on there and the 69 1000, really brings back memories. Amazing how many of the racers are still around.
