2010 SDSU MiniBaja
Here are a couple pictures of our recently finished MiniBaja vehicle. It is built to compete in the Society of Automotive Engineers' Annual competition. We Will represent S.D.S.U in three days of competition, against 102 other colleges in a series of performance tests and various engineering and sales presentations. The grand finale is a four hour endurance race...100 cars on a 2 mile course...Who can log the most laps? Myself and two other ME students built this as our senior design project. The design stage began January 2009 and the final touches were finished a couple hours ago. I don't have time to post a ton of pictures, as we are heading to Washington state tomorrow to run the car...but I snapped a few with my phone. Unfortunately the rules mandate a Briggs and Stratton Model 20 (10 Hp) engine as the power plant. Other than that, we have all the best parts... Fox Shox, CNC brakes, Honda hubs and bearings, ZoomFactor tins. The engine transplant will ensue shortly after the competition.
Special thanks to all our sponsors and supporters: The Corky McMillin Companies, Fox Racing Shox, Vey's Powersports, Trust Real Estate, ZoomFacor, Douglas Wheel, ITP Tires, Duncan Racing, TCS and Powder1

Re: 2010 SDSU MiniBaja
Maxton,
"Nice Job", you deserve a lot of koodoos. It takes quite a bit of time, effort and dedication to successfully build a SAE car while carrying a full load of classes. My son is in his second year at UCSD and is involved in the FSAE program. He dedicates a 10hr day every Saturday to the build. So, I know how difficult and time consuming it is to succeed at these programs.
Congratulations for a completed build.
Good Luck in Washington.

Yeah they've had some test time on it, and the actual chassis and drivetrain was first tested at Pattle at Primm this year after the race.
