I have a T-MAX. It is my first real R/C truck/car. It works great! And when you smash it you can get better parts. A good tip is not to run it on the street. When you run it into a curb thats when you start stepping up to after market parts. When I was in the store getting my T-MAX there was a guy in there picking up parts, he said that he had $1200. into his. I could not beleave it. Until I ran it into a curb. <font color="yellow"> </font color>

Savage or T-Maxx, just depends on what your preference is. I have a Savage SS and would not go any other way now. Just an opinion. I went with the SS so I could choose my own electronics and make other little tweaks as I went. Just like real trucks, it's way to easy to spend too much money. Has anybody driven the Associated Monster GT??

as much as i love associated (always run their race buggys/ trucks) it seems like they just threw the monster GT together and jumped on teh bandwagon to sell some kits with the monster truck.. they make way better race cars but just something about the monster GT that i dont like as much as HPI and the traxxas sadly to say.. and i am a die hard Associated fan. but thats just my opinion i have never personally driven one but have seen one or two at the track and they get stomped on by modded Maxxs and HPI savages... just my 2cents.. hope this helps

i would say it comes down to what one you like better and what one the local hobby store carrys more parts for.. cant really go wrong with either... check them both out and just see what one you like better.. personally if you have the money i would get the HPI SS non RTR one and put my own radio gear in it... or new radio gear.. the RTR radio gear sucks and i am not a big fan of AM radios a good radio is well worth the money... but i would get the HPI because i have already had a tmaxx.. but you can get a new bypass/ dualrate coilover set up that ProLine makes for a Tmaxx now or should be out soon.. wich you cant for the HPI so really it all comes down to what one you like better i would say... hope that helps laters
