Greetings from the Great White North. My name is John. Really haven't done any desert racing other than a 3 hour enduro about 20 years ago (took 2nd overall - only about 3 finishers) in a really basic buggy. Lurked and spectated over the years. Am presently building a 5-1600 ish Baja that will probably only see trails, woods, and some mud. I prefer old iron to new TTs, but admire the tech and fab fab work that a TT entails.
