Hi y'all, Jeff here
My name is Jeff, born and raised in the Pasadena area of Southern California. I have only been a "real" desert racing fan from afar, but plan to get out to one soon. My wife's family holds some impromptu races with their buggies in the high desert areas around here, and through those I have become more interested in participating with my own vehicle. It prompted me to start building a baja beetle, which quickly turned into to a bigger project than originally anticipated (surprise, surprise). What was a running car 2 years ago has now just had the body put back on the pan and is sitting in my driveway without any running gear. But I was raised with the notion of "anything worth doing is worth doing right," so I'm spending extra time researching and fabricating so that I'm completely happy with the end product. It will remain street legal and VW-powered, but my main focus is minimizing part breakage. It's sad to see how often a failed part keeps someone from finishing a race (or just making it home!).
