2nd Annual Robert Rosas Memorial Offroad Ride.

The Second Annual Robert Rosas Memorial Offroad Ride will be held Saturday July 10th, 2010. The ride will start & end @ the Golden Acorn Casino off of I-8, the Campo exit. This event honors the memory of Border Patrol Officer Robert Rosas, who was murdered July 23, 2009 while on duty near the border fence just off of Shockey Truck Trail. This is near Campo, Ca.
Last year there were 61 vehicles, my dream is for 100 vehicles this year.
Last year Mrs. Rosalie Rosas & her 2 small children attended the event with other Rosas Family members. They also plan on attending this years event.
Sign-ups are from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. in the Casino parking lot. The Casino is allowing free dry camping for the weekend. The entry fee is $10 per vehicle which will get you 5 tickets for the drawing to be held after the ride in the Casino parking lot. The ride will start @ 9:00 A.M. & will go to the Memorial Cross near the site where the officer was murdered. After a small ceremony we will proceed to the Tecate Train Tunnel & then back to the Casino.
We are looking for prizes to be donated for the drawing after the ride. Anything that any buisness or individuals would like to donate would be greatly appreciated.

The Casino will be providing hotdogs after the ride. We are still looking for t-shirts, hats, gieft certificates or wahtever for prizes.

Only 2 weeks away. We got more prizes over the weekend & I talked to Rosalie Rosas & She will be @ the event. We found a back way to get to BIA 10 so bikes, quads, sidexsides, buggies & Jeeps will be able to travel the entire trip on dirt. Street legal vehicles can travel down Church Road from The Golden Acorn Casino to BIA 10 where we will hook up & all ride together to The Memorial Cross. This event is for a very good cause & I hope a lot of you can attend. Thanks Ronnie.

Only week to go. I guess the event was in the Union Tribune yesterday & I know The IV Press is going to do an article on the ride in the sports section. We got some cool prizes yesterday from Imperial Valley Cycle Center & Mark Cowan is giving us certificates for shock rebuilds. We have 2 oil changes , lube & alignments from Rogers & Rogers Toyota worth $125. Lee Tires gave us a gift certificate. Coldstone creamery gave us 2 gift certificates & for the ladies We have 5 gift certificates from Styles & Smiles Beauty Salon. Johnny's Burritos gave us gift certificates & Lucky Market gave us 6 goodie bags. JRE Motorsports gave us 9 gift bags. I know we have more & we are getting more prizes everyday & lots of phone calls from people interested in going on the ride. I really hope to see some of you @ this event. Rosalie Rosas & her family will be there as they were last year. I can't wait to be kicking up dust & taking in the sights.

Well guys there are just 4 days left until this great event. I am getting a great response from Law Enforcement. I hope we reach our goal of 100 vehicles. Last year there were 61 & around 120 people. We have added a few more prizes & will proably have more on Saturday. I am out of here see you on Saturday.
