Re: Pistol pete bajalite wins at baja 500!!!
Uh oh!! Pete is ALWAYS the one sticking up for the rules and calling people out so lets hear the real story. The truck has to cross the finish line under its own power and can not be towed for more than what is it 1 or 2% of the race?

Re: Pistol pete bajalite wins at baja 500!!!
SCORE Rule GL13:
No race vehicle shall be towed, pushed, pulled or transported by another vehicle further than 1% of the total distance of the race.
No Race vehicle shall be towed, pushed, pulled, or transported past or through a checkpoint or within one (1) mile of the finish line. All vehicles must cross the finish line with the engine running and propelling the vehicle. No pushing or pulling will be allowed in the last mile.
So if the race was 438 miles that means you could be towed no more than 4.38 miles.

I think years ago they determined that "under its own power" included the occupants pushing it, though that is a total contradiction to the rules. I guess it all depends on Sal's mood.

Re: Pistol pete bajalite wins at baja 500!!!
I was at the finish line when the Tequila Los Valientes BajaLite finished and they were definitely pushing a non-running truck over the finish line and up onto the podium, and the SCORE officials obviously saw it, and apparently didnlt rule that illegal.... I say they had a good finish,,, powered by TEQUILA!.... TEQUILA LOS VALIENTES..... lo mejor! (the best)

Whats the rule on competitor protests?
Isnt it before official results are released or is after you get home and dork out on the internet?
Cant remember...
