    Grafting steel into fiberglass?

Ok, I want to graft the fuel filler door/ apparatus from a VW bug, to a fiberglass front 1-piece. Keep a stock, clean appearance. I have never seen a decent looking filler for a front fuel tank on a baja bug. What do you use to fasten/ secure the whole thing to the fiberglass?? I cut out 2" around the filler door and kept the whole thing as one piece for a somewhat easy install. Don't want to use rivets, would rather "french" it into the glass. Anyone know how this is done?

    Re: Grafting steel into fiberglass?

Anything can be done. The poxy to use is "PLEXUS" MA310(methacrylate) its beyound strong. You should bond the metal behind the glass if possible, its easier to do the finnish work. MA310 has a 30 min window MA300 is too fast for the average job. If you need any pointers feel free to call MPD at 310 327 2337. We can also do the job for you if need be.
