I need help! Silverado front fiberglass

Okay, so my truck is an 01, but im doing the whole conversion thing to an 06. Last night, we started swapping it all over. The grill, headlights, hood, all went on nicely. But then the fiberglass came. My truck already had flared fenders before so the fender wells and what not are all already cut to fit the glass.

Yesterday, I drove an hour and a half to fiberwerx to pick up some brand new glass. Now when I hold it up to my truck, there is about an 1 or 2 gap inbetween the hood the the top of the fender. The only thing that makes sense to me, is the fiberglass is made wrong. Where the top of the fender bolts down to the truck is flat. It seems like the fender should have been raised up higher to meet the hood, then drop down for where it bolts up. You following me? Probably hard to tell what I'm talking about without pictures. I'll snap some later.

Does anyone out there have pictures of an 03-06 truck with flared fenders where they mount on the top of the fender?

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. You may be experiencing problems because your truck is a 2001 and you are trying to install fenders that are designed and intended for a 2006. You should note that these are not conversion products, however you could make the neccassary modifications to your vehicle to convert it to a 2006 look with our fenders. You must understand that when mixing and matching parts from different suppliers you may run into issues such as you are currently experiencing.

To say that our fiberglass is "made wrong" would be incorrect.

I like the one piece, but it probably wouldn't work on my '01 2500HD project truck would it???

It may require a custom built mini-fender to work and fit properly to the HD. We have done this many times on another projects.

CJS, I have an '07 classic silverado & also bought the Fiberwerx front fenders. Hate to say it but to say that they line up good is a joke. Mine were off on probably every line??? The driver door jam was probably off by 7/8" near the bottom & was not even close on the depth either. The hood line had to be shaved a lot to get the hood to even close. Due to their build quailty and to not have to deal with the paint cracking later I ended up buying the glassworks fenders(which FW copied anyways) & they fit like a glove. Again, I hate to say it, but until Fiberwerx starts making quality stuff & not cheap chopper gun made glass I'd look into other options. Jason has always taken care of all the people I know, but do you really want to have to call him a million times & always get the same excuse that they are looking into fixing their molds??? My $.02

Thanks for the input 5.3, do you happen to have a picture of your truck where the top of the fender bolts down, with the hood open?? Thats the pic I need that will answer all my questions.

Fiberwerx, im not trying to bash you or anything. The whole one piece clip would be nice, but i dont have the extra $$$ to make up the difference in price of just the regular fenders. And its a lot more fab work than what im looking to do at the moment. If i do end up having to return the fenders, am i going to have to go all the way back to santee or is there somewhere closer to the menifee/temecula area? I noticed your location says corona?
