I just got back from Pikes Peak and it was rad! What a cool event. Cars, Trucks, bikes, what more do you want? Seriously it was awesome. Monster Tajima didn't break his own record, but has plans to do it next year. 2011 is the last year it will have dirt so go check it out. Oh yeah dress warm and be ready for rain, snow, lightning, etc.
I took a few shots I will post in a bit.
Props to all the Colorado Dirtheads!

Re: Pikes Peak
PPIHC should be on every motorsports enthusiasts list..... and yeah, the weather above 10,000 can be crazy... I got rained on, scorching sun, and about 3 minutes of snow.... alll on race day!!! haha
I swore Tarjima Nobihuro, the MONSTER, was going to break his record and go under 10 minutes..... I saw him drop two wheels off the flat just above the Devil's Playground parking lot and he almost lost it bigtime..... his corrective roost broke some car windows..... glad I didn't park there. 2011... i am so there!
PS, Sunday was Tajima's birthday and they sung him happy bday at the awards tent after the event. COOL

Re: Pikes Peak
Got back monday myself, after my first PPIHC and was pretty impressed. I was hanging around the start line and hiked about a mile up the course......was i shocked on the whole deal, they really put on a pretty good show!! The corner i was hanging out around was CRAZY every other car seemed to be sideways on the pavement, i actually went running on a couple of them and noticed that Rod Millen was just behind me as we both scrambled down the hillside to get out of the way of a couple of REALLY sideways cars. All in all a pretty cool deal and i am hoping to make it up there next year myself!! How did Monster's car sound at altitude? because when he passed us about a mile up the car sounded pretty crappy (popping and almost sputtering??)
